The poet flares up in flamboyant flames of poetic indignation to expose what he defines as madness. But whose madness constitutes the central question.
“Life is a dead zone”, he states. “Death lives in our veins.” The scorching violence rampant all around him feeds his most sarcastic lines, as many scorching assessments of the situation. Poems such as Cashivorus, Polimatics or Evolution of Snakes denounce poverty, inequality or corruption in a mock scientific way whose causticity feels utterly enjoyable…

Not only that, he makes use of ‘Third Person Narrative technique’ to tell the story as a witness to the scenes portrayed in the novel and that act brought the idea of self-belonging to the senses of the reader. His knowledge of the literary works come to play when he incorporates the angle of explaining some literary terms in the novel. Therefore, if you are a writer and you need to learn some literary terms, just grab this book and read.
There are much more to learn in this great literary work of Samuel Ayoade and I don’t think there’s anyone who wouldn’t benefit from reading this book.

Shakespeare’s famous epic love story, Romeo and Juliet, is a celebration of romantic love, while Soyinka’s Elesin Oba, is a dichotomy between self-love and duty – a suicidal undertaking for communal bliss.
