COVID-19: FG discloses info on private school funds of 100bn

The Federal Government has revealed N100 billion intervention fund for private school teachers, following the shutdown of schools.

Making public that, the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba stated that private school teachers are open to access the COVID-19 fund.

Nwajiuba said during the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 daily briefing in Abuja, on Monday.

He ascertained that federal government will guarantee proper connection with private school teachers to access the N100 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

“We have forwarded the requests that they made to the CBN and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment, because for us, they are part of the provision the Federal Government has made in relation to SMEs.

“They are the intellectual powerbase of the country,” Nwajiuba said.
