Thailand reports another 35 coronavirus cases, nation’s biggest jump

Thailand has reported another 35 cases of Coronavirus in the country, being the nation’s biggest daily jump so far.

According to Suwannachai Wattanayingcharoenchai, the director-general of the Department of Disease Control in a briefing on Wednesday, the total cases recorded in the country has now summed up to 212.

Also revealed is the fact that most of the new cases are owed to gatherings at pubs and stadiums.

According to Bloomberg, schools, universities and a number of recreational venues have now begun closing as directed by the government to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. As in many other countries, Thailand is at risk of an economic contraction as the usual engines of tourism and consumer spending stall.
