In Funminiyi’s words, “Three years ago, we published the maiden edition of Funminiyi Initiative titled Si(gh)lent Night, a night of sighs and wanders, with sub-themes revolving around yuletide, rape, robbery, domestic violence and a host of other horrendous vices in our society.

The idea to initialize the second edition of this initiative rushed through my mind when I came across a poem titled A Minute Silence two years ago. At that point, I felt there’s a need to further bring into limelight the theme of the maiden edition, though in a slightly different dimension this time. Because frankly speaking, a plethora of things needs to be silenced around us.

Contributing poets include Ololade Akinlabi Ige, Temidayo Bamidele, Adeniran Joseph, Rahmah O. Jimoh, Oluwafemi Aina, Izang Alexander Haruna, Charles Nnanna, Jide Badmus and many others.
